About me

I was born and brought up in West Yorkshire. I’ve always had a love of the countryside and nature, spending many hours sketching and painting. I started sewing as a teenager. Firstly, making my own clothes and then, after having children, taking classes in soft furnishing and upholstery, art and design and later, teaching myself cross stitch and embroidery. I discovered patchwork 14 years ago after moving up to the Yorkshire Dales, and this has been the focus of my work ever since.

I am now very lucky to be teaching patchwork and quilting at a wonderful fabric shop. It’s through this that the Cottage Garden Quilt was born. It started out as a project for the ladies in my classes to do and ended up as the subject for my first book.
